Rhinoplasty Surgery

It is a surgical cosmetic procedure that aims to modify and improve the shape of the nose to become consistent with the shape of the face.
Rhinoplasty aims to reduce the nose in addition to treating medical problems such as: breathing problems, sinus problems, or due to some accidents.
It is considered one of the most common and successful plastic surgeries in Turkey, because everyone aspires to have a small nose in harmony with the face.
The nose consists of five cartilages, two upper and two lower, and a nasal septum that divides the nose into a right and a left part.
There are two areas of suffocation in the nasal airway, the first is external around the nostrils, and the second is internal between the nasal septum and the lower part of the upper cartilage.
Rhinoplasty can be performed for females at the age of 17 years, and for males at the age of 18 years and above, and the operation should not be performed for less than this age.

Rhinoplasty Surgery Steps

1- Types and techniques of rhinoplasty:

Rhinoplasty is performed using two of the most popular techniques. The operation is performed either by the closed nose technique or by the open nose technique; The patient is subjected to general anesthesia whether a closed nose or an open nose is used.
The first technique is closed nose: the doctor hides the incisions inside the nose in this technique; He makes an internal incision between the upper and lower cartilage, this technique takes less time and a faster recovery period.
Second technique Open nose: In this technique, the doctor makes an external incision through the columella, which is the narrow strip of tissue that separates the two nostrils; This technique is used in cases of obvious deviations and distortions.
The incisions, both internal and external, enable the doctor to gently lift the skin covering the bones and cartilage of the nose, enabling the doctor to reshape the nose.

2- The stage of reshaping the nose:

This stage is the main stage in rhinoplasty; Where the doctor reshapes the bones and cartilage of the nose according to the shape agreed upon with the patient before the operation, in some cases it may require the cultivation of some cartilage in the nose.

3- Correcting the shape of the nasal septum:

The doctor closes the incisions and then installs a splint for the nose; Then the last stage of the rhinoplasty process begins, which is recovery and waiting for the results of the operation.
Rhinoplasty takes between one and three hours, and the final result appears after six months to a year.

Often the success rate of the operation is above 80% with expectations and prior design.

important note :
No further operations should be performed on the nose, if necessary, until a year has passed.
